Biography
Sissi took Brazil to new heights at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup™. Her left-footed free kicks and masterful deep passes proved unstoppable for the opposition in a surprising run which saw the Seleção move past the group stage for the first time in their history. Only the eventual winners of the competition, the USA, were able to stop them in the semi-finals en route to a third-place finish. Her seven goals meant she tied for the Golden Boot award with China’s Sun Wen.
