About this card

In football, you have to grow up fast, and that’s exactly what Leicy Santos did, moving 800 km to Bogotá at just 13 to chase her dreams, a bold step given the underdevelopment of women’s football in South America circa 2010. Ultimately, this bravery carried her far beyond Bogotá, making her one of the first Colombian woman to transfer to a European club and a key figure for the national team.
