About this card

Football unites people across all backgrounds. However, for Kellyn Acosta growing up as a Black and Asian player in a predominantly white community brought challenges, including bullying for his heritage and passion for football. Leaning on his family, especially his Japanese grandmother, he overcame these obstacles to win an MLS trophy, lift two Gold Cups with the USMNT, and compete on football’s biggest stage at the 2022 World Cup.
