Biography

John Arne Riise was well known for his ability to score from range, and he showcased this during the 2006 FA Cup Semi-Final vs Chelsea. Having scored from range in two games prior to the semi-final, Riise fancied himself again as he stepped up to take a first-half free kick for Liverpool. Unsurprisingly, Riise snuck the ball through a gap in the wall and into the net to set the tone for the afternoon as Liverpool progressed. Riise went on to win his first FA Cup.
